As a Senior Policy Advisor you will help drive the Government of Jersey's ambition to secure the Island's future as a leading International Finance Centre. You will shape forward looking policies, ensure financial services and financial crime related policy and legislation remain fit for purpose and contribute to strategic initiatives that strengthen Jersey's global position.
Jersey is a unique place to live and work, and this role reflects that difference. As a Crown Dependency with its own legislative framework and financial services regulation, your work here truly matters to your colleagues, the Government and, most importantly, to the people of Jersey. Running an Island touches all areas of life, giving you unrivalled variety and the opportunity to work with experts across departments on issues that genuinely make a difference.
You will draw on your legal training, financial crime or financial services experience and membership of a relevant professional or chartered institute to deliver expert policy advice to Ministers and senior leaders. The role includes leading major Government initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders such as the JFSC and Jersey Finance, and conducting detailed research to keep Jersey aligned with international standards.
You will also represent Jersey in interjurisdictional meetings and conferences, support the development of new legislation, and clearly communicate policy proposals to Scrutiny Panels, States Members, industry and the public. Because our remit covers the whole Island, everything we do has a bigger impact and you will see the difference your work makes every day.
