Our Consultant in Care of the Elderly will play a pivotal role in the delivery of high-quality general medical care while helping to shape the development of frailty services for the Island of Jersey. This post sits within a newly formed Elderly Care and Frailty Department and combines inpatient ward commitments, outpatient clinics, MDT leadership and a rotational rehabilitation component, alongside participation in the General Medicine on-call rota.

Health and Care Jersey is the Government of Jersey department responsible for delivering specialist health care and running the Island’s general hospital. As a Crown Dependency, Jersey has its own independent health system and is not part of the NHS. This offers consultants a different professional experience, with greater autonomy, clearer lines of influence and a genuine opportunity to shape services for a defined population during a period of transformation and investment.

The post is offered on a substantive basis with a salary range of £119,025 to £177,443 per annum, dependent on experience. Discretionary increments may be applied once in post in line with hospital policy. The role is based on 10 programmed activities.
