Our Lead Pharmacist will help to create and define Jersey’s first dedicated Palliative & End‑of‑Life Pharmacy service, a truly ground breaking role jointly delivered by the Government of Jersey and Jersey Hospice Care. Jersey Hospice Care, the island’s only hospice, delivers 24/7 inpatient services, community care, and extensive emotional and bereavement support - all completely free for patients and families. In 2025 alone, nearly 950 islanders benefited from Hospice services across inpatient, community and counselling pathways, highlighting the scale and significance of this vital work.

As the island’s specialist lead for medicines in Palliative & End‑of‑Life care, you’ll be at the heart of a fully integrated health system where primary care, secondary care, community teams, hospice services and social care work seamlessly together. This unique connected model means your impact will reach far beyond a single organisation, you’ll shape medicines optimisation across the whole island, ensuring compassionate, consistent and uninterrupted care for people at the most vulnerable moments of their lives.

Following the successful launch of Jersey’s first ever Palliative and End of Life Care strategy in November 2023 the service has undergone significant improvement and expansion. With the development of a new Living Well Team and an on island out of hours telephone advice line, more patients are being cared for, earlier in their disease course within an extended working day. In addition to these services changes is the strengthening of Palliative and End of Life Care Education, with the recruitment into new posts with Nursing and Medical education both in hospital and the community.

If you’re driven by purpose, inspired by collaboration at system level, and ready to lead a service that will truly make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
