If you’re looking to build a long‑term career in accountancy, this apprenticeship offers the opportunity to join our young team and assist with the provision of services for varied clients. Alongside gaining a Level 3 AAT Apprenticeship you will gain valuable hands‑on work experience while working towards a recognised qualification.

Wage: £19,000 per annum for the first 12 months, reviewed thereafter in line with applicable rates and performance.

Training Course: Assistant Accountant (Level 3)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:30 (37.5 hours per week)

Start Date: Monday 17 August 2026

Duration: 1 year 3 months

Positions Available: 1

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of basic accounts and tax for sole traders and partnerships prior to manager review
  • Assisting the team in completing bookkeeping and Making Tax Digital for Income Tax Returns accurately on Xero, QuickBooks, Excel spreadsheets and other software, including assistance in compiling VAT returns
  • Communicating directly with clients to resolve queries and build strong relationships
  • Working on the corporate and personal tax needs of our clients
  • Supporting the team in the preparation of other ad‑hoc jobs as required
  • Support for administrative tasks such as scanning and filing
  • Opportunity to use and develop AI‑enabled systems to improve workflows and client offerings, supported by workshops and ongoing training

Location: 19 King Street, Wakefield, WF1 2SQ

Training Schedule: The successful candidate will undertake a structured AAT Apprenticeship programme at Level 3, including classroom and online training to achieve a recognised accountancy qualification.
