The ideal candidate will communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels of the business and with external suppliers and customers. They will have a professional, organised, and methodical approach to work while maintaining confidentiality at all times.

Wage: £16,640 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (40 hours per week).

Start Date: Tuesday 1 September 2026.

Duration: 1 year.

What you'll do at work:

  • Filing away and sorting out emails, answering the reception phone for incoming calls.
  • General administrative duties such as filing, printing, and scanning.
  • Entering purchase invoice information to relevant PO number.
  • Reconciling and paying off supplier invoices to monthly statements.
  • Paying off monthly Direct Debits.
  • General maintenance of purchase ledger.
  • Chasing outstanding POs that have been raised with suppliers.
  • Processing pro forma invoices to be paid and reimbursement of employee receipts.
  • Producing weekly payment run of supplier and sub‑contractor invoices.
  • Completing new supplier account forms.
  • Processing and reconciling company credit cards.
  • Other ad hoc duties.

Where you'll work: Innovation House, 6 Cibus Way, Holbeach, Spalding, PE12 7FH.

Training: Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You'll study to gain professional knowledge and skills. Training provider: INSPIRE EDUCATION GROUP. Training course: Accounts or finance assistant (level 2).

What you'll learn:

  • Record transactional data.
  • Use the organisation's standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
  • Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
  • Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon and using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
  • Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
  • Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Training schedule: Training will be delivered at Peterborough College. This will consist of 1 day per week at the College, typically having a classroom session in the morning and then independent learning in the afternoon.

  • Essential Qualifications: GCSE in English (grade 4). GCSE in Maths (grade 4).
  • Skills: Communication skills, IT skills, attention to detail, hard working, data entry, willing to learn, ask questions.
