The Assistant Financial Accountant role supports Regent’s Park Healthcare’s Finance team, delivering financial accounting and reporting efficiently, accurately, and to the highest standard. It is ideal for a candidate beginning an accounting career.
Wage: £15,600 for the first year, with potential increases based on age. National Minimum Wage Apprentice rates apply.
Training Course: Professional accounting technician (level 4).
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. 30‑minute unpaid lunch break. Total 37 hours 30 minutes per week.
Start Date: Monday 3 August 2026.
Duration: 1 year 3 months.
What you’ll do at work:
- Prepare monthly accrual, prepayment and P&L related schedules
- Prepare analyses of ledger accounts
- Review and respond to accounts payable and accounts receivable queries as required
- Process invoices and ledger entries into accounts as required
- Prepare and support the annual audit for group and corporate entities, liaising with auditors and resolving audit queries
- Assist with budget and forecasting processes
- Handle daily banking, payment allocation and cash receipts updating
- Manage debtors, chasing arrears via email, telephone and the Money Claims system
- Coordinate with Private Medical Insurers and respond to billing queries
- Drive process and control improvements, implementing them with guidance from the Head of Finance
- Issue weekly dashboard data with commentary to managers, assist business development, including project appraisal and business case development
- Act as a business partner in our clinics to ensure finance functions are maintained and data recorded accurately
- Reconcile allocated balance sheet accounts monthly, flagging any issues
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, external stakeholders and patients
- Respond to finance queries and provide high‑quality customer service across the company

Training Provider: Wiltshire College and University Centre.

- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, recognising equality, diversity and inclusion
Training Schedule: Apprenticeship combines on‑job training with classroom attendance at Wiltshire College (Salisbury). The goal is to achieve the AAT Technician qualification.
Essential Qualifications: GCSE English (grade 4‑9) and GCSE Maths (grade 4‑9). Other relevant qualifications may be considered.
