A great opportunity to start a career in accountancy. You will support managers and other senior staff in providing a range of accountancy services to our clients, gaining experience and knowledge to progress through AAT qualifications.
Wage: £15,600 for the first year, with a potential increase depending on age.
Hours: Monday – Friday (excluding bank holidays), 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. 37 hours 30 minutes per week.
Start Date: Monday 6 July 2026
Duration: 1 year 3 months
Responsibilities:
- Bank reconciliation
- Review Xero for debtor and creditor queries
- Assist clients with bookkeeping queries
- Collaborate with the management team to manage the bookkeeping workflow
- Provide bookkeeping services and prepare VAT returns
- File Companies House and HMRC documents on behalf of clients
- Data entry for weekly and monthly client payrolls
- Process purchase ledger invoices and supplier payments
- Reconcile supplier statements and maintain supplier records
- Create sales invoices
- Support general administrative duties, including telephone support and on-site client visits
Training and Development: Participate in an Assistant Accountant (Level 3) apprenticeship, supported by a flexible programme from Accountancy Learning. Training includes both on-the-job experience and specialist study. Assessment will be conducted through an End-Point Assessment and a Synoptic Exam, with opportunities for higher apprenticeship progression.
Qualifications: GCSE in at least 5 subjects, including English and Maths (Grades 9–4, A*–C)
