We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Audit Associate to join our audit team. You'll support audit planning and testing, review financial records, liaise with clients, and gain hands-on experience while working towards a Level 3 AAT qualification.
Wage: £13,741 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age.
Hours: Monday- Friday, 9.00am-5.00pm, with a 1‑hour unpaid lunch break. 35 hours a week.
Start date: Tuesday 1 September 2026.
Duration: 1 year 3 months.
What you’ll do at work:
- Assist the Audit team with the planning and administration of audit assignments.
- Perform audit tests in line with firm methodology to ensure client financial information is accurate.
- Accurately document the required information for sales and purchase invoices, bank statements, payroll records and other sources of data.
- Draft key client documents including engagement letters for manager review.
- Communicate progress to management, detailing when tasks fall behind planned budgets.
- Communicate with clients across a range of mediums including email and in-person.
- Reference client financial statements to ensure that sufficient and appropriate audit work has been performed.
- Identify areas for improvement in client systems and communicate these to management.
- Complete the required level of study, including passing all exams and regularly updating apprenticeship learning journals.
- Understand the principles of cybersecurity and how to work safely online.
- Apply professional judgement, maintaining a critical eye to transactions and trends.
- Complete all necessary training outlined in the firmwide training plan.

Those joining at Level 3 will begin their career as an Audit Associate, with the opportunity to progress to Audit Semi‑Senior as further qualifications are achieved and performance criteria are met. Promotion to Audit Senior is achievable around the point of ACA qualification. Qualified colleagues may be promoted to a managerial position, such as an Audit Assistant Manager, and beyond this, further progression is available into team management and leadership roles where appropriate.
