Training Course: Assistant Accountant – Level 3
Hours: Monday – Friday, shifts to be confirmed. 40 hours a week.
Start Date: Thursday 3 September 2026

Work: Most of your apprenticeship is spent working on the job, gaining hands‑on experience.
What You’ll Do at Work:
- Process purchase orders and maintain the purchase‑order/procurement log, ensuring full adherence to DHL Supply Chain procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of periodic and weekly cost reports for both the customer and internal operational management.
- Assist in the production of payroll reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepare and post month‑end journals and perform month‑end reconciliations.
- Produce and issue accurate sales invoices and assist with debt management.

Training Provider: FIRST INTUITION LIMITED
What You’ll Learn:
- Investigate and respond to financial information queries.
- Record and analyse financial data using the organisation’s standard tools and processes.
- Apply double‑entry bookkeeping and accounting standards to process financial documents, generate financial statements and report financial information.
- Prepare accurate financial information for accounts, including reconciliations.
- Investigate, resolve or escalate transactional queries and errors within the appropriate remit.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
- Communicate financial information to non‑finance stakeholders in an understandable way.
- Utilise digital skills to present key financial information using finance and accounting software and applications.
- Use software packages to assist with basic accounting tasks in line with cyber and data security requirements, including secure data handling and backups.
Training Schedule: During the 18‑month apprenticeship you will learn through online modules with First Intuition and on‑site learning at the dedicated DHL Supply Chain site.
