Are you looking to begin a rewarding career in finance and accountancy? W Clifford Watts Ltd is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Apprentice Accountant to join our busy Accounts Team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional finance environment while studying towards an AAT Level 2 qualification.
Wage: £15,600 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices.
Training course: Accounts or finance assistant (level 2)
Work: Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm, 1 hour lunch break (unpaid), 37 hours 30 minutes a week.
Start date: Monday 21 September 2026
Duration: 1 year

What you’ll learn:
- Record transactional data.
- Use the organisation's standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues, such as reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
- Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience, and different media methods.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
Training schedule: This apprenticeship combines the best of both worlds, with a mix of online study and hands-on workplace learning. You’ll work alongside experienced colleagues in the Accounts Team while completing your AAT Level 2 qualification through East Riding College, allowing you to develop your skills and put your learning into practice from day one.

- Essential qualifications: GCSE in Maths & English (grade 4)
- Desirable qualifications: A Level in Maths (grade C), Level 3 in Business (grade P)
