This role supports the finance team while the apprentice works towards AAT Level 3 through Solveway Apprenticeships. You will gain hands‑on experience preparing financial statements, budgets, reports, and month‑end processes. What you'll do at work
The apprentice will support the finance function within the organisation and carry out a range of accounting activities appropriate to an AAT Level 3 Assistant Accountant role.
Typical responsibilities may include:
- Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and management accounts
- Supporting month end and year end processes
- Preparing and posting journals, accruals and prepayments
- Assisting with budget preparation and monitoring
- Supporting cash flow forecasting
- Assisting with VAT returns and tax related processes
- Conducting balance sheet reconciliations
- Analysing financial data to support decision making
- Maintaining accurate financial records in line with internal controls
- Using accounting software and financial systems confidently and accurately
- Communicating professionally with internal stakeholders and external contacts

As part of this AAT Level 3 Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship, you will receive comprehensive training and support:
- Attend structured off‑job training delivered by Solveway Apprenticeships.
- Complete portfolio evidence linked to your workplace activities.
- Benefit from regular progress reviews to track your development.
- Be supported by a designated workplace mentor providing day‑to‑day guidance and feedback.
- Work towards the successful completion of your End Point Assessment.
- We will provide appropriate workplace tasks that allow you to develop competence in financial reporting, budgeting, tax processes, and professional behaviours in line with the apprenticeship standard.
