As an apprentice, you will attend college while working in an SNG office, developing the skills required to become a qualified member of the workforce. You will work alongside highly skilled mentors who will support and reinforce your learning. Our support roles play a vital part in the efficient day‑to‑day running of business operations.
Wage: £15,680 a year (increases after the first year).
Training Course: Professional accounting technician (level 4).
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 9.00 am – 5.00 pm. Friday 9.00 am – 4.30 pm. 37 hours a week.
Start Date: Monday 7 September 2026.
Duration: 2 years.
Position Availability: 1 position.
Work: Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands‑on experience.
What you’ll do at work: You will build your skills by working across different areas of Finance at key times of the year. This could include supporting financial reporting during the year‑end audit, learning about procurement and tax, helping with budget planning, and contributing to business planning activities.

What you’ll learn:
- Collate and analyse financial information and use it to support value creation within an organisation.
- Apply accounting principles and adhere to legislation to ensure records are accurate and compliant with law or company policy when delivering accounting activities.
- Apply professional scepticism when undertaking accounting activities to inform and evaluate decision making.
- Interpret financial information for accounting purposes, using judgement to determine the correct way to report or account for transactions or undertake ratio analysis.
- Participate in or support quality improvement activities.
- Use software packages to assist with accounting tasks in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely.
- Deliver accounting tasks with a critical eye to transactions and trends, demonstrating a ‘right first time approach’.
- Use workload management principles to plan, organise and prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
- Use accounting information to add value to the organisation through data visualisations, analysis, interpretation, and communicate financial information in a way that facilitates understanding for non‑finance stakeholders.
- Build and maintain collaborative, professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver accounting tasks, recognising the importance of equality, diversity and inclusion.
