Summary

Careers don\’t start here. They take off. Are you ready to kickstart your career in Audit in September 2026? The role is based in our East Midlands office. This role will begin in early September 2026 and the assessment centres will take place on 19th November, 28th January and 18th March.

Wage

ÂŁ22,500 a year. Salary increases will occur year on year depending on how the student progresses.

Monday – Friday, CP has flexible working hours! 37 hours 30 minutes a week.

We work closely with clients to ensure transparency, accuracy, and trust in their financial reporting, helping them grow with confidence and clarity.

As an Audit Trainee, you’ll dive into real projects from day one.

This is more than just a job – it’s a launchpad.

You:

  • Support audit fieldwork by reviewing financial documents such as invoices, bank statements, and payroll reports, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements.
  • Engage with clients to understand their systems and processes, attend year‑end stocktakes, and contribute to audit testing and reporting in small teams.
  • Deliver high‑quality work by managing deadlines, ensuring data accuracy, and collaborating with your team to meet client expectations.

Course contents:

  • Communicate in a clear, articulate and appropriate manner. Adapt communication to suit different situations, individuals or teams.
  • Identify ethical dilemmas, understand the implications and behave appropriately. Understand your legal responsibilities, both within the letter and the spirit of the law, and be aware of the procedures for reporting concerns over potentially unethical activities.
  • Take ownership of allocated projects and effectively manage your own time and the time of others. Demonstrate good project management skills to deliver high‑quality work within the appropriate timeline. Act as a role model and motivate others to deliver results.
  • Evaluate information quickly and draw accurate conclusions. Assess a problem from multiple angles to ensure all relevant issues are considered. Gather the appropriate facts and evidence in order to make decisions effectively.

Training schedule

  • Accountancy or taxation professional Level 7 (Master’s degree) Apprenticeship Standard.
  • The apprentice will attend their nearest Kaplan training centre for various revision sessions, training and exams.

Essential qualifications

• A Level in: At least one subject in either Math, Business etc. (grade BBC).

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
