Are you ready to kickstart your career in Audit in September 2026? Imagine working with a wide range of dynamic businesses, diving deep into their financials, and uncovering the stories behind the numbers - all while being part of a team that’s as ambitious and curious as you are.

Wage: £22,500 a year

Hours: Flexible working, core hours include 10am - 4pm, 37 hours 30 minutes a week

Start date: Tuesday 1 September 2026

Duration: 4 years

Work: Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work:

  • Support audit fieldwork by reviewing financial documents such as invoices, bank statements, and payroll reports, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements.
  • Engage with clients to understand their systems and processes, attend year-end stocktakes, and contribute to audit testing and reporting in small teams.
  • Deliver high-quality work by managing deadlines, ensuring data accuracy, and collaborating with your team to meet client expectations.

You’ll be supported every step of the way - by peers, mentors, and even our Partners. We’ll give you structure, but also the freedom to grow at your own pace.

St James S Bldg, 79 Oxford St, Manchester, M1 6HT

Training: Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

Training provider: KAPLAN FINANCIAL LIMITED

Training course: Accountancy or taxation professional (level 7)

What you’ll learn:

  • Influence the impact of business decisions on relevant and affected communities based on an appreciation of different organisations and the environments in which they operate.
  • Communicate in a clear, articulate and appropriate manner. Adapt communication to suit different situations, individuals or teams.
  • Identify ethical dilemmas, understand the implications and behave appropriately.
  • Understand their legal responsibilities, both within the letter and the spirit of the law, as well as be aware of the procedures for reporting concerns over potentially unethical activities.
  • Take ownership of allocated projects and effectively manage their own time and the time of others.
  • Demonstrate good project management skills to deliver high quality work within the appropriate timeline.
  • Act as a role model and motivate others to deliver results.
  • Evaluate information quickly and draw accurate conclusions.
  • Assess a problem from multiple angles to ensure all relevant issues are considered.
  • Gather the appropriate facts and evidence in order to make decisions effectively.

Training schedule: The apprentice will be out for college days at their local Kaplan office and will receive exam and study leave support.

Requirements:

Essential qualifications: A Level in one subject in Math, Business or Science (grade BBC). Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
