Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You\’ll learn on the job by getting hands‑on experience.
What you’ll do at work
- Completion of daily bookkeeping on Xero and QuickBooks Online for a wide variety of clients from different industries
- Assist with preparation of VAT returns
- Assist with completion of monthly CIS returns
- Assist with preparation of company accounts and corporation tax returns
- Support and assist the team with the completion of personal tax returns
- Assist our marketing team with social media content
- Interact directly with the amazing entrepreneurs we help on a very regular basis
- Ad‑hoc office tasks

Accounts or finance assistant (Level 2)
What you’ll learn
- Record transactional data.
- Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
- Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, using language tailored to the audience and appreciating the risks and benefits of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, including data backup.
Training schedule
You will work primarily in our office, based on the outskirts of Earls Colne in Essex. Great transport connections and country views make for a lovely commute. We are always open to flexible remote working with all of our team. The successful candidate will be required to attend weekday courses, once a week, at First Intuition to study towards their AAT Level 2 qualification as well as mentoring towards the Level 2 Apprenticeship knowledge, skills and behaviours.
Desirable qualifications
GCSE in English and Maths (grade 4/C or above). Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
