Summary
Immediate start, working within a modern office environment amongst a friendly team for a fast-paced and growing business based in Radcliffe. The successful candidate will work alongside the existing Support Team and assist in the daily running of the department with full training provided.

Wage
£14,526.20 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You\’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you\’ll do at work

  • Basic bookkeeping
  • Reconciling bank accountants
  • Compiling for review basic VAT returns
  • Preparing a basic set of accounts
  • Preparing basic self-assessment tax returns
  • Progression on to Year 2 at a more advanced level in line with the AAT syllabus.
  • College attendance weekly

What you\’ll learn
Course contents

  • Record transactional data.
  • Use the organisation\’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
  • Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
  • Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
  • Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
  • Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

This qualification requires college attendance once per week.

GCSE in:

  • Maths (grade C/4 or above or equivalent)

About this employer
Wilds, originally established in the 1930\’s, is an award-winning practice based in Radcliffe. We act for and with owner managed businesses largely based throughout Manchester and the North West. We have many clients further afield. In February 2022 Ridehalgh Ltd joined the Wilds Group. They were established at a similar time to Wilds and are based in Clitheroe town centre servicing Burnley, Blackburn, the Ribble Valley and surrounding areas. Together we comprise of 5 partners and a team of 25, so we are large enough to deal with the needs of our most demanding clients but small enough to care about our smallest. Our client base ranges from individuals and families to groups of companies. As a group we are pleased to support our clients through good times and bad, which has rewarded us with good working relationships and a steadily growing client base.
