Overview
Brewers Chartered Accountants provide a wide range of services to individuals and owner managed businesses, with a particular specialism in the not-for-profit sector. We are looking for a well presented, articulate individual with strong inter-personal skills to join our small friendly team.
Wage: £13,741 to £22,222.20, depending on age.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm. 35 hours per week.
Start date: Monday 10 November 2025. Duration: 1 year. Positions available: 1.
What you’ll do at work
- The role is primarily office based and you would be expected to undertake all aspects of office administration, such as post opening, welcoming clients visiting our office and telephone answering.
- You will receive immediate in-office guidance on the basics of accounts preparation.
- You will prepare spreadsheets in support of client record review and analysis.
- You will accompany senior team members to client premises to gather and record data necessary to prepare accounts and undertake independent audits.
- You will spend time with department heads to learn about different service lines such as audit, management accounting, payroll and taxation services.

Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.
Training provider: BROOKLANDS COLLEGE.
Training course: Accounts or finance assistant (level 2).

- Record transactional data.
- Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
- Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Other requirements
Due to our office location and the occasional need to visit clients, a full clean driving licence and own car are essential. Willingness to travel to clients’ premises in the Surrey region and beyond and public transport to London.
