About the Team

The GIAA Finance & Commercial team is responsible for providing sound financial management and commercial advice, preparing management and financial accounts, leading on budgeting and forecasting, and providing accurate information for Parliamentary control and public accountability purposes.

About the Job

In this role, you will:

  1. Produce the Financial statements and Notes for GIAA’s Annual Report and Accounts (ARA);
  2. Work with colleagues across GIAA to produce other key aspects of the ARA including the Staff and Remuneration Report;
  3. Be the leading contact for the external audit process with NAO, successfully leading GIAA through the Interim and Final audits;
  4. Lead on Financial controls, reviewing their effectiveness and identifying opportunities to evolve and streamline. Report to the Audit and Risk Assurance Committee (ARAC) and work with Internal Audit on changes.

About You

You will have experience in preparing Financial statements and a success in understanding and using accounting standards (for example IFRS, FReM and Managing Public Money). You will have experience of leading an organisation through the external audit process. You’ll have the ability to analyse, interpret and report on datasets, identifying trends over time. You must also be able to communicate complex financial concepts in an understandable format to non-finance partners.

GIAA colleagues are expected to work in an office location for three days a week on average (60%). This expectation will be applied on a pro-rata basis for people who have a part-time or compressed hours working pattern.
