We are seeking a fully qualified Electrician to join our Facilities Maintenance Team at HMP Rochester. The role involves maintaining electrical systems, troubleshooting issues, and working with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a safe and secure environment.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and repair electrical installations within the prison environment.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on commercial and industrial electrical systems.
- Ensure compliance with BS7671:2018 and health & safety regulations.
- Work collaboratively with plumbers, carpenters, painters and other maintenance staff.
- Report faults, advise on safety issues and support improvement of maintenance practices.
- Certificate in BS7671:2018 (18th edition)
- Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services (City & Guilds/EAL) including relevant NVQs and competency assessments (AM2/AM2S), e.g., 2367 or 2357.
- Two years’ experience as a fully qualified electrician.
- Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems.
- Knowledge of planned and preventive maintenance operations.
- Good health & safety knowledge.
- Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
- 25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays.
