Painter and Decorator
Location: HMP Highdown, Highdown Lane, Sutton SM2 5PJ
Salary: £27,945.35 per annum
Contract: Permanent, full time, Monday to Friday
We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team at HMP Highdown, a category c adult male and YOI prison.

Responsibilities
As a Painter and Decorator, you will contribute to maintenance and safety within the prison environment, working alongside a team of trades and staff to ensure a clean, maintained, and secure facility that supports rehabilitation and safe operations.
Qualifications
- Previous painting and decorating experience
- Competency in the use and operation of all associated power tools and machinery
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements
- Knowledge of routine preventive maintenance
- a City & Guilds, National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 3 in Painting and decorating or an equivalent qualification or substantial experience
- Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.

Future Plans
GFSL has been notified by its shareholder (MOJ) that the provision of FM services will in future be delivered by the private sector. This means that following a successful procurement process, GFSL\’s services will complete transfer to a private sector provider/providers no sooner than August 2027.
