Location: HMP Woodhill-MK4 4DA
Salary: £36,066.96 with 5% shift allowance
Contract: Full time – Fixed Term Contract (12 months)
The CRED Supervisor will work within HMP Woodhill, a High Security & Adult/Male prison, as part of the Maintenance Team. The role involves managing small‑scale refurbishment projects, supervising staff, and supporting prisoner rehabilitation through maintenance work.
Key responsibilities include:
- Mentoring and supporting maintenance staff to achieve objectives and overcome challenges.
- Advocating for fair treatment and opportunity for prisoners and other stakeholders.
- Managing small‑scale refurbishments, ensuring work complies with health & safety standards.
- Co‑ordinating with a multidisciplinary team, including plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters, cleaners, and administrators.
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Understanding of prisons and prisoner working systems (willingness to learn considered desirable).
- Experience in using tools and equipment for small‑scale refurbishments.
- Knowledge of health and safety principles and their application in a maintenance setting.
- Experience managing small‑scale refurbishment projects.
- Experience supervising staff.
- Self‑motivated with a positive, can‑do approach.
- Experience managing relationships with various stakeholders.
- Trade or building qualification (e.g., carpentry, painting & decorating, plumbing, electrics) is desirable. If you do not hold a trade qualification, demonstrable experience is essential.
