Salary: £26,575.65 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full Time, 39hrs per week, Mon-Fri

Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Escort / Handyperson to join our team at HMP Ford, a Category D, adult, male open prison. The role focuses on safety, supportive and inclusive work, and offers real opportunities to build your skills and progress. You will work Monday to Friday as part of a supportive and driven family to create a safe and nurturing environment within a self‑contained city/town prison system. Your work will impact prisoners, employees, visitors and the wider community.
Responsibilities: As an Escort / Fabric Operative you will work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues from various trades, including plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters, cleaners and administrators, all dedicated to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all.
Qualifications:
- Experience of prison environment
- Experience of use of hand and power tools
- Previous experience of working within a building fabric / Hard FM environment
- Up to date First Aid at Work Qualification
- Level 2 qualification in English and Maths
- Good Health & Safety knowledge
- Excellent organisational, time management and people skills
