As a Digital Portfolio Analyst, you’ll support the effective oversight of a diverse portfolio of digital programmes and projects, helping teams and leaders understand progress, risks and priorities. You’ll collect, analyse and report on delivery information, producing clear and accurate documentation such as performance reports, briefing papers and governance materials that support informed decision-making and accountability. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys working across teams in a fast-moving and sometimes ambiguous environment.
You’ll support portfolio governance and assurance processes, help identify and manage risks and issues, and contribute to improving portfolio tools, standards and ways of working. Working closely with delivery teams, senior portfolio colleagues and stakeholders across GDS and DSIT, you’ll play an active role in promoting good practice and supporting the portfolio team to ensure we deliver a high-quality service that meets GDS’ strategic outcomes.
- Monitor and report delivery progress on all portfolio items and produce performance reporting against milestones and outcomes.
- Manage delivery risks and issues across the portfolio of digital programmes/projects, identifying, mitigating, and escalating as appropriate to safeguard delivery outcomes.
- Produce key documentation and reports, including briefing papers, planning data, and governance materials to support programme performance and accountability.
- Support governance and assurance and help teams to follow governance and delivery processes.
- Support the prioritisation of a group of projects and programmes.
- Support more senior portfolio managers and leadership in making improvements.
- Act as advocate for PMO functions across the business, promoting the PMO and associated best practice within the business and the wider DSIT.
- Identify, develop and share best practice on processes, tools and templates and support with its implementation and roll out to other teams.
We’re interested in people who:
- Can produce key documentation and reports – including briefing papers, planning data, and governance materials to support programme performance and accountability.
- Have experience and working knowledge of programme and project planning.
- Have experience of collecting and analysing data, finding insights and evidence, using analytical skills to inform decisions on complex issues and delivering more effective outcomes.
- Can support work cross-functionally to design and implement business plans that support long-term strategic objectives.
- Have experience working on projects in ambiguous and flexible environments.
- Are able to provide support to the Portfolio team, reviewing and recommending actions for tools, standards and methodologies.
- Can support the implementation and adoption of new tools and frameworks such as OKRs across GDS.
- Are able to operate in an agile environment and support multi-functional team requirements.
