About the role

As a Senior Infrastructure Operations Engineer, you'll lead a 24/7 Operations Centre shift, bringing together monitoring, response and platform teams into one coordinated function. You'll set direction, manage priorities and ensure the safe, effective operation of DVLA's critical infrastructure and services. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll balance incident response, operational delivery and continuous improvement, while bringing teams together to work in a consistent, collaborative way.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead a team of engineers, setting priorities and overseeing operational activity
  • Take ownership of live incidents, ensuring timely resolution and clear escalation
  • Oversee monitoring and alerting to proactively manage risks and issues
  • Bring together teams across operations and platforms to work as one
  • Ensure clear communication, handovers and decision-making across shifts
