About the role
This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who can connect business goals with technical direction across a complex digital estate. You'll help define the long-term architecture vision, guide major investment decisions, and make sure technology choices support secure, efficient and resilient public services.
You'll also play a key role in architectural governance, leading strategic discussions, mentoring other architects, and helping teams balance speed, cost and quality while staying aligned to organisational priorities.
What you'll be doing:
- Translating business strategy into clear enterprise architecture roadmaps
- Shaping the future technology estate and defining target state architecture
- Leading architectural governance and assurance for major projects
- Providing technical leadership on investments, risk and technical debt
- Setting and enforcing architectural principles and standards
- Producing clear architecture views for senior leaders and decision-makers
- Working with stakeholders to align technical plans with business outcomes
- Leading, mentoring and developing a team of architects
- Supporting complex, high-value digital transformation programmes
