Senior Product Manager to lead the delivery of the Private Rented Sector Database. Lead product teams to design, build and deliver digital products and features that form the Private Rented Sector database. Balance Government objectives with the needs of landlords, tenants, local authorities and other users. The service will launch later this year and requires confident delivery at pace. The role reports to the Service Owner.
Responsibilities
- Lead product teams to design, build and deliver digital products and features that form the Private Rented Sector database.
- Shape and align to the product strategy and vision, balancing the objectives of Government with the needs of users β landlords, tenants, local authorities, and others.
- Prioritise the roadmap to enable the successful delivery of a minimum viable product and subsequently prioritise product development, iteration and improvement; work on a product that moves from private beta into public beta.
- Work with other product managers to plan work across multiple delivery streams.
- Seek opportunities for reuse and solve the whole problem in the private rented sector space.
- Understand and influence a range of stakeholders with different needs to shape the service and communications.
- Lead delivery of the Private Rented Sector Database, including services to register landlords and letting agents, provide information about landlords to tenants, enable local authorities to access the database, and manage administration interfaces.
- Collaborate with policy, operations and other digital services to set direction by balancing Government objectives and legislation with the needs of landlords, tenants, letting agents, local authorities, and other user groups.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience prioritising product features to ensure we are building the right things at the right time to enable successful delivery; comfortable with challenging conversations where trade-offs are needed and using data to drive decision making.
- Experience product managing services from private betas into public betas, and leading a live service with a large user base.
- Proven experience bringing together a range of stakeholders to shape product development, strategy and vision, including solving a whole problem and identifying opportunities for reuse.
- Experience using user-centred design to build services in accordance with the GDS Service Standard and Service Manual.
- Fostered a positive team culture and motivated a multi-disciplinary team to deliver to ambitious timelines.
