Job description
Defence Business Services (DBS) aims to be the \’best business services partner for the UK Defence and Security Communities\’ by providing critical business services, including Human Resources, Pay, Veterans, Finance and Procurement, that enable our customers to focus on strategic Defence priorities and maintain National Security.
Within DBS, the Digital, Information & Technology (DIT) team is responsible for management, support and delivery of the DBS information technology systems and the provision of accurate and timely management information to our customers. As the Oracle HCM Cloud Payroll Elements Development Team Lead, you will be responsible for completing configuration, testing and maintenance for the payroll elements configuration of the civilian payroll application. Role is specifically responsible for the management of developing payroll element changes to the civilian payroll system, which underpins the wider MyHR application.
A developer delivers software components that form part of the Oracle HCM Cloud civilian payroll system. At this role level, you will: ·
Develop payroll elements solutions to meet user needs within the guidelines of the Departments procedures
Undertake development for; Applications Maintenance (focus on `fix\’ work) or Change Delivery (focus on business as usual or project work) according to prioritised business demand.
Ensure payroll element solutions are peer reviewed, and unit tested.
Formally document developed solutions to facilitate the implementation of solutions to the civilian payroll application.
Provide practitioner level knowledge of Oracle Cloud payroll application Support the test team and wider DBS in investigation and resolution of test and live issues relating to payroll elements.
Write clean, secure and well-tested fast formula.
Collaborate with other team leads on configuration solutions.
Coach and mentor more junior colleagues.
Management of the payroll elements team of two EO junior developers.

The Oracle HCM Cloud Payroll Elements Development Team Lead must:
Have experience of ORACLE Cloud applications, fast formula and payroll.
Be able to adapt and thrive in a demanding environment.
Have sound judgement and the ability to interpret user needs.
Have the ability to investigate and problem solve issues.
Experience of working in a corporate services or shared services environment.
The post holder will be expected to have [or develop] understanding of some or all of the following functionality: SQL/PLSQL, HCM Extract, HCM Data Loader (HDL), Fast Formula, HCM Spreadsheet Loader (HSDL/AD).
