The Governing Body of Lemington Riverside Primary School wish to appoint a Facilities Manager to lead and manage the day-to-day operational running of our school site. This is a key role within our school and would suit a highly organised, proactive and committed individual who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure and well-presented environment for our children, staff and community. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supervising site operations, ensuring that the school premises are safe, compliant and fit for purpose at all times. This includes overseeing cleaning, maintenance, health and safety and security across the site. You will work closely with the Headteacher, School Business Manager and senior leaders, providing updates on site matters and ensuring that our school is a safe, well-presented place that our children, staff and community can be proud of.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the security of the school premises, including opening the site each morning
  • Supervising cleaning staff and maintaining high standards of cleanliness
  • Carrying out and organising repairs and maintenance
  • Monitoring site systems (e.g. heating, alarms, lighting) and reporting faults
  • Liaising with contractors and ensuring work is completed safely and effectively
  • Supporting health and safety procedures and ensuring compliance
  • Undertaking porterage duties and supporting the general organisation of the site
  • Responding to out of hours alarm activations when and where required

Qualifications

  • Has experience of site management, caretaking or facilities management
  • Can effectively supervise and lead a small team of cleaning staff
  • Has a strong understanding of health and safety and compliance
  • Is proactive, reliable and able to work independently
  • Is organised and able to prioritise workload effectively
  • Takes pride in maintaining high standards across the school environment
  • Is solution-focused and able to carry out minor repairs and maintenance
  • Has a competent level of IT/computer literacy
  • Will go the extra mile for the benefit of the school community
  • Fully supports the vision and ethos of Lemington Riverside Primary School
