The Governing Body of Grasmere Academy are seeking to appoint an experienced and highly organised Office Administrator to join our dedicated team.
The successful candidate will provide efficient and effective clerical, administrative and financial support to the school, working closely with the School Company Secretary.
The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for pupils, parents, carers, staff and visitors, and will play an important role in ensuring the reception area operates efficiently and professionally.
- Welcoming and assisting visitors, parents, pupils and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
- Managing the school reception and responding to telephone calls, emails and general enquiries.
- Maintaining accurate records and completing a range of administrative tasks.
- Supporting attendance and pupil administration.
- Processing correspondence and maintaining confidential information appropriately.
- Liaising with parents, carers, staff and external agencies when required.
- Supporting the Headteacher and wider school team with general administration.
- Following school procedures relating to safeguarding, confidentiality, health and safety and visitor management.
- Providing a professional and welcoming front-of-house service at all times.
The successful applicant should have
- Previous experience in an administrative or reception-based role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
- Good IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office and school administration systems.
- The ability to work calmly and professionally in a busy school environment.
- A high level of confidentiality and attention to detail.
- A friendly, approachable and professional manner.
- An understanding of the importance of safeguarding when working in a school environment.
