4.8a Caretaker/Cleaner with Supervision (15 hrs a week) Permanent contract to work during term time & 4 additional weeks (to be agreed). Salary Grade 03 SCP 09 TO 12 £27,254 TO £28,598 fte. Required as soon as possible.
St. David\’s Primary School is a successful school with a strong caring ethos that promotes a creative, positive learning environment. The Governing Body is seeking to appoint a dedicated and reliable Caretaker/Cleaner to join our friendly school team. This is a key role in ensuring the safety, security, cleanliness, and smooth day-to-day running of our school premises.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring the site is safe, secure, and well-maintained at all times
- Opening and closing the school
- Regular testing of systems, such as fire alarms and emergency lighting
- Cleaning duties across the school site
- Basic maintenance and minor repair work
- Responding to out-of-hours alarm callouts when required
- Monitoring heating and lighting systems
- Supporting with the overall health and safety of the school environment
What we are looking for
- Is organised, proactive, and takes pride in their work
- Has good communication skills and works well as part of a team
- Understands the importance of site security and health and safety
- Has some experience in a similar role, or is willing to undertake training
- Is flexible, trustworthy, and able to work independently
