We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Operative, Labourer, or Handyperson to join our team at HMP Guys Marsh, a category C adult male prison, as an Escort / Fabric Operative.
Join a team that is more than just a group of colleagues - we work Monday to Friday, (with an early finish Friday!) as a supportive and driven family, working together to create a safe and nurturing environment.
As an Escort / Fabric Operative, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues who vary from Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, to Cleaners, and Administrators, and others, who are all dedicated to making a positive difference, providing a safe and secure environment for all. You will support the trades teams to complete their work orders, manage your own basic DIY tasks, and accompany subcontractors throughout the property ensuring the highest levels of security are adhered to and access is enabled in a timely manner.

We are looking for an Escort / Fabric Operative with:
- Experience of prison or secure environment (desirable)
- Experience of use of hand and power tools
- Previous experience of working within a building fabric / Hard FM environment
- Up to date First Aid at Work Qualification (desirable)
- Level 2 qualification in English and Maths
- Good Health & Safety knowledge
- Excellent organisational, time management and people skills
- A confident, robust, and personable character
