We are now recruiting a Transition & Close‑Out Programme Support Officer to support a complex, multi‑workstream programme during a critical phase of transition and demobilisation. Reporting to the Transition & Close‑Out Programme PMO Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring effective governance, reporting, planning, and control arrangements are in place.
This role is central to enabling the programme team to deliver agreed objectives, by maintaining accurate programme information, coordinating activity across workstreams, and embedding programme management standards.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll provide PMO support to a complex, multi‑workstream transition and close‑out programme, helping ensure strong governance, accurate reporting, and effective coordination across projects.
Working with the Programme PMO Manager and Project Managers, you’ll maintain programme controls, produce performance and financial reports, and keep key information such as risks, issues, actions, and plans up to date.
You’ll support programme planning, resource and budget tracking, coordinate meetings and documentation, and use data and digital tools to monitor progress, identify issues, and support informed decision‑making. You’ll also work with a wide range of stakeholders and help share learning and best practice across the programme.
Essential
- Experience working in a programme or project management support role (PMO / project support / programme support)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project and other Microsoft Office tools
- Good communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, team members, and stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate reporting, schedules, and documentation
- Knowledge of programme and project management methodologies, techniques, and best practice
- PRINCE2 Practitioner or APM Project Fundamentals qualification
Desirable
- Good analytical skills, including the ability to assess risks, resource requirements, and potential delivery impacts
- Experience using data, dashboards, or digital tools to support project and programme reporting
This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a high‑profile, complex programme, gaining exposure to governance, reporting, and transition activity within a public sector environment. You’ll be part of a supportive PMO function, helping to ensure delivery remains controlled, transparent, and well‑evidenced through to programme close‑out.
If you’re organised, detail‑driven, and motivated to support effective programme delivery, we’d love to hear from you.
