Electrical Supervisor (GL Highdown) – Gov Facility Services Ltd (GFSL) HMP High Down – Full time, permanent (39 hours per week)
Salary: £46,775.42 per year plus £2,500 in allowances per year. Additional 5% basic salary for shift and weekend working.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise electrical staff working round‑the‑clock shifts.
- Ensure safe, secure and compliant electrical maintenance across the prison.
- Coordinate with other trades (plumbing, carpentry, painting, cleaning, administration) to support overall facility operations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and incident reports.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
- Assist in training and development of new staff.
- Five years’ experience as an electrician or equivalent.
- Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical and building services.
- Experience of supervising staff.
- Full driving licence preferably with D1 endorsement.
- C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation) and NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent.
- Certificate in BS7671 – The Requirements for Electrical Installations (17th or 18th Edition).
- Good Health & Safety knowledge.
- Excellent organisational, time‑management and people skills.
- 25 days’ holiday per year plus bank holidays.
