Contract: Full Time | Permanent | 39 hours per week

We are seeking a dedicated fully qualified Electrician to join our team at HMP Rochester, a Category C & Male prison. We work Monday to Friday as a supportive and driven family, creating a safe and nurturing environment. As an Electrician, you will work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues—plumbers, carpenters, painters, cleaners, administrators, and fellow electricians—to maintain the safety and security of the facility. Your role will support the smooth and safe operation of the prison, ensuring safe and secure environments for prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community.

Qualifications

  • Certificate in BS7671:2018 (18th edition)
  • Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services (City & Guilds/EAL), including relevant NVQs and competency assessments (AM2/AM2S). For example: 2367 or 2357.
  • Two years’ experience as a fully qualified electrician
  • Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems
  • Good working knowledge of planned and preventive maintenance operations
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge
  • Excellent organisational, time management and people skills
