Cleaner role at Gov Facility Services Ltd (GFSL) – HMP Albany, Isle of Wight

Location: HMP Albany, IOW

Salary: £24,761.88

Contract: Permanent – 39 hours per week – Mon-Fri

We are seeking a dedicated Cleaning Operative to join our team at HMP Albany, a Category B adult male prison. This role involves contributing to a safe and secure environment and working with a team of experienced colleagues across trades and administration to support the facilities operation.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning tasks in accordance with site standards and safety requirements.
• Work as part of the Facilities Maintenance Team to support safe, clean, and secure prison environments.
• Collaborate with colleagues from trades (Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters) and Administrators as needed.
• Support rehabilitation and positive change through reliable, quality cleaning services.

Qualifications

• Experience of working within a cleaning environment.
• Knowledge of COSHH.
• Knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements.
• Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
