We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer (Maintenance Plumber) to join our team at HMP Wandsworth, a category B male prison. The role involves working Monday to Friday/Sunday, with a salary of £36,000 plus an additional 5% for shift and weekend work. This is a full-time, permanent position. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced colleagues such as Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Having at least two years’ experience as a plumber or equivalent
- Working with Water Supply Regulation and Legionella L8 requirements
- Experience with commercial or industrial heating and water systems
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
Qualifications:
- C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and Heating), NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent
- Strong health and safety knowledge
