Salary: £39,579.20 – £43,177.30 per annum plus £1,000 in RRA and 5% shift allowance

Contract: Full time / Permanent (x2 positions available)

We are seeking a dedicated Electrician to join the Facilities Maintenance Team at HMP The Mount, a category C prison. The team supports the safe and secure operation of the facility and works to create a safe environment for staff, prisoners and visitors.

As an Electrician, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced colleagues across trades, including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners and Administrators, who are dedicated to making a positive difference and promoting rehabilitation and safety. Responsibilities:

Note: This section is derived from the role description and general expectations for the position within GFSL facilities services. The specific day-to-day tasks are determined by the Facilities Maintenance Team and management to ensure a safe and secure environment.

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Two years’ experience working as an electrician
  • Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems
  • Good working knowledge of planned preventive maintenance operations
  • Electrician qualified to C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation) and NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent
  • 18th Edition Certificate in BS7671
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge
  • Excellent organisational, time management and people skills
