Role Overview: We are seeking a Level 3 qualified Electrician to join our team at HMP Erlestoke, a category C adult male prison. Join a supportive team working Monday to Friday to maintain a safe and secure environment.
Team Environment: HMP Erlestoke functions like a self-contained city, requiring a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Team to ensure smooth operations impacting prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community. Work alongside experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all committed to making a positive difference.
Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical maintenance and repairs in a large prison environment.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Contribute to the safe and efficient operation of the facility.
Requirements:
- Two yearsβ experience as an electrician.
- Experience with commercial or industrial electrical systems.
- Knowledge of planned preventive maintenance.
- Qualified to C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation) and NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent.
- Certificate in BS7671 2018 (18th edition).
- Good Health & Safety knowledge.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and people skills.
