Location: HMP Belmarsh, SE28.
Salary: £43,177.30 + £3,000 allowances + 5% shift & weekend extra.
Contract: Full Time / Permanent, 39 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of the Facilities Maintenance Team to maintain electrical systems within the prison.
- Collaborate with plumbers, carpenters, painters, cleaners and administrators to ensure a safe and secure environment.
- Support the smooth and safe operation of the prison, recognising the impact on prisoners, staff, visitors and the wider community.
- Assist with preventive maintenance and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Two years’ experience as an electrician.
- Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems.
- Good working knowledge of planned preventive maintenance operations.
- Certified electrician – C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation) and NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent.
- Certificate in BS7671.
- Good Health & Safety knowledge.
- Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
