Job Role: Electrician
Location: HMP The Mount – Bovingdon, Hemel Hempstead HP3 0NZ
Salary: £39,579.20 – £43,177.30 plus £1,000 in RRA per annum and 5% shift allowance
Contract: Full time / Permanent – x2 positions available
We are seeking a dedicated Electrician to join our team at HMP The Mount, a category C and Adult/Male prison. As part of the Facilities Maintenance Team, you will help drive the smooth and safe operation of the site and contribute to a safe environment for prisoners, staff, and visitors.
We are a Ministry Of Justice business providing critical and time-bound services to HMPPS. Join a team that is committed to rehabilitation and positive change.
Responsibilities
As an Electrician, you will:
- Work alongside experienced colleagues in a multi-discipline team (Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, Administrators, etc.)
- Contribute to planned preventive maintenance operations and ensure electrical systems are safe and compliant
- Support the operation and safety of the facility to promote a secure environment
Qualifications
- Two years\’ experience in a role as an electrician
- Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems
- Good working knowledge of planned preventive maintenance operations
- Electrician qualified to C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation) and NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent
- 18th Edition
- Certificate in BS7671
- Good Health & Safety knowledge
- Excellent organisational, time management and people skills
