Electrical Supervisor – Gov Facility Services Ltd

Location: HMP High Down

Employment type: Full Time – Permanent (39 hrs per week)

Salary: £46,775.42 + £2,500 allowances per year plus 5% basic salary for shift and weekend working

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues from diverse disciplines to maintain and supervise electrical systems within the prison environment.
  • Manage and oversee day‑to‑day electrical operations ensuring safety, compliance, and reliability.
  • Supervise staff, assign tasks, provide training, and monitor performance.
  • Coordinate with other maintenance teams (plumbing, carpentry, etc.) to support facility functions.
  • Respond to emergency situations and maintain records of incidents.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years\’ experience as an electrician or equivalent.
  • Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical, building services.
  • Experience supervising staff.
  • Full driving licence, preferably with D1 endorsement.
  • Electrical installation qualifications – C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation) and NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent.
  • Certificate in BS7671 – The Requirements for Electrical Installations, 18th Edition.
  • Good health & safety knowledge.
  • Excellent organisational, time‑management and people skills.
