We are seeking a dedicated Handyperson to join our team at HMP The Verne, a Category C men's prison.
Responsibilities:
- Support and operate within the Facilities Maintenance Team to contribute to the safe and secure operation of the prison environment.
- Work alongside experienced colleagues across trades (Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, Administrators, etc.) to provide a safe and secure environment for all.
- Carry out duties as an Escort / Fabric Operative in line with role requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience of prison environment
- Experience of use of hand and power tools
- Previous experience of working within a building fabric / Hard FM environment
- Up to date First Aid at Work Qualification
- Level 2 qualification in English and Maths
- Good Health & Safety knowledge
- Excellent organisational, time management and people skills
