Salary: £25,566.00 per annum

Contract: Full time, 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday, fixed term

Overview:

As an Apprentice Mechanical Engineer at Gov Facilities Services Limited (GFSL), you will learn alongside experienced professionals while supporting the maintenance and repair of critical mechanical, plumbing and heating systems that keep HMP Downview safe and operational. Responsibilities:

  • Assist skilled engineers in planning, conducting and documenting mechanical maintenance, plumbing and heating work.
  • Support routine and emergency repairs, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Perform technical tasks such as testing, inspection and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
  • Document work activities and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications:

  • GCSEs or equivalent at grades A-C or 9-4 in English and Maths.
