Salary: £47,045.49 plus an additional 5% basic salary in recognition of shift and weekend working

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Supervisor to join our team at HMP Pentonville, a category B male prison. HMP Pentonville operates like a self-contained city; the Facilities Maintenance Team is committed to driving smooth and safe operation, and all activities impact prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community.

Responsibilities
- Supervise staff within the mechanical/plumbing discipline and contribute to a safe, compliant, and efficient facilities operation.
- Collaborate with Plumbers, Electricians, and other trade colleagues to maintain and repair building services systems.
- Support delivery of Water Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements where applicable.
Qualifications
- Five years\’ experience as a plumber or equivalent.
- Familiar with Water Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
- Experience working on commercial or industrial heating and water or building services systems.
- Experience supervising staff.
- Plumber qualified to C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and Heating) and NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent.
- First Aid at Work qualification (Up to date) – Desirable.
- Relevant professional qualifications (facilities management/project management) – Desirable.
- Good Health & Safety knowledge; excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
