Overview: We are seeking a practical and confident handyperson to join our Facilities Maintenance Team at HMP Feltham, a young offenders institute. The role is focused on maintaining the safety, security and smooth operation of the prison environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work alongside experienced colleagues in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and other trades to ensure the prison’s building fabric remains safe and functional.
- Respond to emergency repairs, carry out routine maintenance tasks and support day‑to‑day operational needs in a fast‑paced setting.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience of prison environment – desirable
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Previous experience in building fabric / Hard FM environment
- Up to date First Aid at Work certification
- Level 2 qualification in English and Maths
- Good Health & Safety knowledge
- Excellent organisational, time‑management and people skills
