Engineering Support Operative

Hourly Rate: £16.23 per hour

Shift: 2 days 6am-6pm, 2 nights 6pm-6am - 4 days off

The Role

The ESO will maintain machinery ensuring the efficient running of production. Duties will include responding to stoppage calls from production and the SCADA system, completing planned OAC maintenance tasks (OAC - Operator Asset Care) and running production machinery when required to support operations.

Core Responsibilities

  • Responding quickly to problem solve issues and well as regular Maintenance such as strip down, identifying defects & replacing parts
  • Proactive maintenance of machinery and fixing issues as they arise
  • Identification of machine parts details from components & manuals to enable sourcing of replacement parts
  • Pick face re-address capability
  • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products (incl OTIF).
  • Maintain SOPs, documents and follow administrative procedures regarding maintenance
  • Use appropriate systems
  • Conduct RCA and lead CI initiatives
  • Understanding of key KPI’s that directly affect OTIF or other performance targets

Who You Are

  • Previous experience gained within a similar role preferably in FMCG environment.
  • Mechanically minded with working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills, and a confident and forward thinking team player.
  • Excellent attention to detail with Flexibility and keenness to Problem solving.
  • Understanding of production procedures and adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear).
  • Systems knowledge ideally: SCADA to monitor and respond to line performance issues. Advanced DiQ & WMS knowledge.
