Based in our Food Proposition team and reporting to the Recipe Development Manager, you will join a team dedicated to culinary excellence and innovation. Our team focuses on delivering a diverse and exciting menu that delights our customers every single week, ensuring every recipe is high-quality, commercially viable, and operationally seamless.
As a Junior Recipe Developer, you will play a vital role in bringing new food concepts to life. This is an exciting opportunity to have a direct impact on our customers' dinner tables by developing innovative recipes, analysing performance data to improve our offering, and collaborating across the business to support strategic food projects and launches.
Core Responsibilities- Contribute to the development and delivery of new recipes for core food ranges
- Support strategic launches and food projects from the initial idea through to final implementation
- Develop recipe concepts and improvements that meet specific goals for nutrition, seasonality, and cost
- Use internal data and customer feedback to guide decisions and improve recipe outcomes
- Produce high-quality, easy-to-follow recipes, including clear instructions and step photography
- Support the wider Food Team with recipe writing and constructive feedback to improve our collective work
- Conduct research on food trends and competitors to help create unique and exciting recipes
- Update and improve recipes that aren't performing well based on what our customers tell us
- Manage administrative tasks, including recipe tagging and maintaining accurate data in our systems
- Assist with operational tasks such as recipe substitutions and adapting meals for specific formats like air fryers
- Familiar with creating reliable, user-friendly recipes that give great results for home cooks
- Show a real passion for food, flavour, and being creative in the kitchen
- Have a working knowledge of food costings and feel comfortable using spreadsheets to help make decisions
- Stay curious and informed about current food trends, different cuisines, and healthy eating
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where we are always looking for ways to improve
- Understand recipe development processes and how to maintain high-quality standards
- Able to use customer insights and business needs to help shape your creative work
- Balance being innovative with making sure recipes are practical and cost-effective to produce
- Possess strong written communication skills, especially when writing clear instructions
