This role is based at site 5 days a week and reports directly to the Group Technical Manager for Operations. It leads a dedicated site team of approximately 10 people, including Quality Auditors, Supervisors, and Hygiene specialists, to ensure the highest standards of food safety. The position takes full ownership of technical decisions at the site level, acting as the vital link between site leadership and the wider technical function, ensuring that fast-paced operations consistently deliver safe, high-quality meals to our customers.
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily activities of the site Quality and Hygiene teams to maintain excellence.
- Lead all food safety decision-making and act as the final point of escalation for on-site technical issues.
- Steer the technical relationship between the Group Technical Manager and the Site Leadership Team.
- Oversee allergen controls and verification processes to ensure total label accuracy.
- Drive continuous improvements in quality processes across the Warrington site.
- Coach and support team members to resolve conflicts and build high-performance capabilities.
- Implement the site auditing schedule to ensure full compliance with food safety standards.
- Translate technical requirements into practical, common-sense solutions for the production environment.
Who You Are:
- Experience leading teams within a food production environment.
- Ability to make independent decisions with confidence in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong communication skills, able to explain technical details to various audiences.
- Knowledge of allergen management and date coding protocols.
- Experience conducting and managing internal or external audits.
- Skilled in coaching others and managing team dynamics effectively.
- Practical problem-solver who can adapt quickly to the Gousto world.
- Comfortable using G Suite for daily tasks and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Level 3 HACCP certification.
- Level 3 Food Safety certification.
