SIA Steward (NVQ Spectator Safety Level 2)

At GK Group, we’re looking for reliable, professional, and customer-focused SIA Stewards (NVQ Spectator Safety Level 2 qualified) to join our Events Team and help deliver safe, enjoyable experiences for spectators at exciting venues and events, including sporting fixtures and live events.

Whether you’re supporting crowd management, assisting attendees, or responding to challenging situations, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring every event runs smoothly.

Responsibilities:

• Be proactive in assisting event attendees and providing excellent customer service
• Enforce venue and event regulations, responding appropriately to breaches
• Handle challenging situations calmly and professionally, using effective communication
• Communicate clearly and professionally with attendees, colleagues, and supervisors
• Maintain a professional appearance and ensure uniform standards are met at all times
• Be self-motivated, adaptable, and confident working in a range of event environments
• Use initiative and remain calm under pressure to maintain attendee safety
• Support effective crowd management, including monitoring queues, entrances, and exits
• Report incidents, hazards, and safety concerns promptly and accurately
• Follow all company, venue, and event-specific policies and safety procedures
• Assist with emergency procedures, including evacuations, in line with training and venue requirements

Requirements:

• Valid NVQ Spectator Safety Level 2 qualification or equivalent certification in crowd management and safety procedures
• Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Close Protection licence
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues, spectators, and emergency responders
• Reliability and punctuality, with a strong commitment to attending scheduled shifts on time and fulfilling all work responsibilities
• Previous stewarding or event security experience would be beneficial
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, supporting colleagues and maintaining a safe and positive environment for spectators
• Professional and customer-focused approach, with the ability to remain calm, approachable, and professional when dealing with spectators and challenging situations
