We now have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Security Officer to join the team, to provide security services to an educational facility in York.

The position:

  • Permanent
  • Full-time - 7 on, 3 off; 7 on, 4 off (days and nights, 12 hour shifts)
  • A valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding licence is essential

Main responsibilities:

  • Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry
  • Conducts locks and unlocks
  • Obtains help by sounding alarms
  • Prevents any losses and damage by reporting irregularities
  • Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities
  • Liaises with the in-house team

Required skills and attributes:

  • SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding Licence
  • 1 year’s experience in a similar role (preferable)
  • Ability to communicate clearly with the general public and engage/advise when necessary
  • Ability to deal with uncertainty
  • Professionalism
  • A full, clean, UK driving licence (preferred but not essential) and own transportation to site
